June 10, 2015

Good dogie again!  When we first got our puppy we thought she might be a Lassa or a Shih Tzu but that just didn't quite fit.  Then it hit me that she was a mix- a Peekapoo.   We looked it up on the internet and all of them had the body shape and some looked identical to her.  Then Charlotte remembered what else she looked like -an Ewok from Star Wars.  So we decided to change her name to Wicket the only Ewok that was well known.  The internet said this breed was highly intelligent and a joy to train but I had never had any experience with them.  She started going to the garage to do all of her toilet almost as soon as we got her with maybe 3 wet accidents in the house.  I put down newspaper wherever she would go and so she started using that and then I kept reducing the paper till now after having her only a week she is using the paper in just one place with almost no effort on our part.  Wednesday we are in Juayua all day and Lucky stayed home all morning to do some washing and stuff.   She was mostly upstairs and she said she never heard the puppy at all.  We let her sleep in a box in our room at night and she is perfectly behaved and quiet.  She always gets up and follows us if we get up for anything but when we get back in bed she goes back to hers.  She is extremely affectionate and very playful and will bark when you play with her but the rest of the time she is quiet.  She is almost the perfect pet.  The internet said she is ideal for apartments with or without patios which is good because our house here has no outside and we cannot let her out in the street but she seems to know that too because when we open the door she will look out but never tries to go out.  And last of all, the internet said this kind of dog is ideal for old people-so there you are.  We arrived at Cesar's at 10:00 and headed out pretty quick.  Eliza and Abi both had colds so we did not want to disturb them more than we could help.  We had a good study with Julia and talked with a few other contacts.  Then we decided to stop by Sulima's house, she is Regina's daughter who is expecting in July.  Her husband was home and that was good because he is not a Christian and we got to have a good visit and prayer with them.  As we passed by Kelley's house she said they would not be at home this afternoon but that Saturday afternoon would be good.  Then we went to lunch and rested a little.  At 2:00 we went by the mayor's office to ask again about the place to have the English classes when the Huntsville group is here.  We also asked the man if he knew of any houses and he said he needed to call someone who might have a house.  He told them we were gringos and the person on the other end actually asked him how much rent he should ask us.  It was pretty funny but in a way not really.   We ran into Nelson, one of our English students, as we were going back to Regina's house and we invited him to the 5:00 Bible study.   He came!!! That was great and he said he had a son who was 3½ and that he would bring him for Charlotte's children class on Sunday at 5:00.  We are also supposed to go by the Mayor's office on Friday at 8:00 on our way to the monthly preacher's meeting to find out about the place for the English class as well as to hear further about the house for the gringos.
