Unexpected present. You
have to be careful what messages you unintentionally send out. When
we went to immigration for our renewal recently and then to the
dentist for the first time for Charlotte we had some time to kill in
between. So when we were at the mall I said maybe we could walk over
to the place where the people had puppies for sale on the street. We
had not really planned to get one but I had gone with Carlos when we
were killing time while the ladies were visiting the baby at the
hospital a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, I guess that Cesar got the
idea we were ready for a dog even though we had planned to wait until
we moved to Juayua because there is no yard here and the dog would be
alone a lot as we are out so much. Anyway, there was a note on our
computer that Cesar had a small dog for us to look at. We could not
believe it, but when we got to Juayua at 10 it was true. Someone in
San Salvador had it and he said it was free but if we did not want it
we could send it back with Osvaldo. We left it in Cesar's bathroom
and headed out to our contacts. Mr. Rivers was standing outside his
door and invited us in so we had a visit and a short study with him.
By the time we finished it was almost 12 so people were getting ready
for lunch. We went by and made a couple of other short contacts and
told them we were sorry it was so late and would come back next week.
Then we went over to the outdoor buffet place for lunch. It was
12:30and they did not have much left but we got by. We had some time
to kill so we decided we would walk around some. The reptile exhibit
was open so we went in there. Then we went on to Sister Regina's and
she and Pedro went with us to visit Sister Ana. While we were there
it started raining. We had walked because there were too many of us
for the car. So Caleb, Pedrito, Cesar and I headed back in the rain
and got pretty wet. When we got to the car, Cesar went back over for
the ladies while Caleb and I waited at Regina's. Then we rode over
for our study with the family who makes the coffee. The man was next
door working but ran home in the rain to meet us. He said we could
visit but that his wife was at work. We decided not to study because
she was not home. Then she arrived before too long and we decided to
go ahead. The study went great and they asked us to come back
Saturday also. The man had caught a snake and had it in a sack. He
was hoping to sell it to the Reptile exhibit. After the study we
went back to Regina's for the 5:00 Bible class and Charlotte taught
the children's class. Then we dropped Cesar off at his house and
picked up the dog. We had decided to try her overnight. Then we
stopped at Recardo and Joli's house for dinner. They had lasagna and
was really delicious. Carlos and Linda and their girls also came and
we had a great time. It started raining hard again so we tried to
wait it out and finally decided to go after it slacked some because
it was getting so late. Caleb drove and Charlotte and I sat in the
back with the puppy. When we got home we were really tired so we
went to bed pretty soon. The puppy cried when we left her in the
garage, so we decided that we would put her in our room. She stayed
quiet all night, staying mostly in her box.
