Followup. At 9 this morning, Carlos, Dwaine, Lucky and
I went to the first area that the Springhill, TN had worked. We wanted to followup on some of the people
we had met and also to let Carlos know where he could find the homes of the
contacts. First we went to some of the
homes of Dwaine’s studies. The first revealed
a sad situation. Dwaine and his group
had visited a family early on. On his
second visit a little boy, about 8ish had broken his arm. That was back at the end of April. It is now June 16th and the boy
has not had any medical care. He has an
appointment for mid-July. How sad. He had some use of the arm, but you could tell
that there are some problems and they will probably be long term. We studied and prayed with the family. Dwaine gave the lady his Bible. She said that when her mother had died her
sister had gotten the family Bible, so she now has one. We did learn that she couldn’t read, but she
has a daughter that can read to her.
Then we went to Melvin’s home. He
was a young boy with much work and weight on his shoulders. For one, some time back his father had
committed suicide. We encouraged him and
prayed with him. Then we found one home
where Dwaine had studied with some girls.
They were not home, but the mother was home. She invited us in for a study and prayer as
well. We went on to some of my
contacts. The first two ladies who had
invited us in on the campaign were not home.
However, the family who were police in Ahuachapan had one person home
who invited us in and we studied. Lucky
was taking some ladies to Sonsonate at 11:30 so we headed home. We got back to the house just in time for her
to leave. We did get word from Cesar
that the large room to rent would be $75 for the week. We confirmed that we wanted it for our
English classes. Dwaine and I rested
about an hour and then headed out to Shucutitian for some studies. We first went by Bessy’s mom to leave her a
note for Bessy. We visited there for a
few minutes and then on to Reina’s home.
She had a visitor, so we did not stay to long. We headed on to Natividad’s home and she was
walking a little better, praise God. She
could at least move about in her home.
We had a good study with her and we talked about baptism. She can hardly make it down the mountain, so
we are going to be in search of a children’s inflatable pool to have on
hand. We studied for quite a while and
we are in prayer for her concerns. Then
we went on to Teresa’s. This is Osmin’s
mother from church. She was not
home. So, we came home for an hour and
then headed to Zoila’s for a study. It
was good that Mirdna came. Natividad is
Mirdna’s mom and we are praying that Mirdna will be a great influence on her. There is so much to do and so little time.
Wondering what is in this picture. Well, butterflies!
I can see two, but there were more, I just wasn't quick enough.
