June 15, 2015

Dwaine might say San Salvador day….but I would say pain day.  This root canals is something else.  We headed out for my 10 o’clock appointment and when we got to Sonsonate we had to go through a detour.  There was yellow crime tape up on both sides of a block, so we knew something had happened.  There were also a lot of people lined up on at the tape on each end of the road.  Someone was crying.  We had to move along so we wouldn’t be late.  That took a few minutes to find our way out of Sonsonate of the regular route, but not too bad.  We later learned that either a bus or a truck carrying a large number of people ran over an older mother and daughter and killed them.  How sad.  The vehicle left the scene.  We are in prayer for the families.  With some heavy traffic, we worked our way to the dentist’s office and made it at 10:03 for our 10:00 appointment.  We were excited after last week.  Of course it was grueling.  Afterwards, the pain was really bad, so we stopped to get some Tylenol, of course at Wal-mart.  Next week I am going to the pharmacy and actually take something for pain with me.  I am personally so excited that next week will be the last week. (Oops, this is a future statement, but I have lost 6 pounds this week because of not being able to eat much. What a way to go on a diet! Just when you think you might need to lose a few pounds, God provides a way.)  Anyway, we made it back in time to check on the possible rental of the nice home that we wanted to rent.  Cesar said the man had called him and the house was going to sell on Tuesday.  He said we could go by and talk, so we did.  He said his interested party wanted to go ahead and purchase.  He also said that would rule out using the home for English studies as well.  We had one more lead on a rental of a large room with a resident in the upstairs portion.  We headed out to check on that, and it was a fair size room.  It best part of the room, was that it was directly across from the school.  Since teaching English involves high school students, the location would be great.  We asked how much the landlady would rent for a week and she said we could contact her Tuesday for an answer.  It was a possibility.  We went to our 5:00 study in Juayua with Raul and Anita.  That went well, and we headed home afterwards.  Looking forward to ‘sleeping this one off,’ so to speak.
