August 13, 2016

Follow that car!  We left at 8:30 to go to San Salvador.  All materials were gathered and lots of cupcakes made and decorated for food lesson.  We arrived about 10 to go by the material store and then to Mr. Donut next door to meet Mr. and Mrs. Azucena at 10:30.  They were already there, so I did not shop too long.  I was primarily looking for muslin for children’s costumes and I found a large piece….5 pounds for $11.  That should go a long way.  The plan was to follow the Azucena to a Bible book store before noon so that we could buy some Bibles for gifts.  We pulled out of the parking lot and in sight there was a round about.  We lost the Azucena in the round about and took off following a small silver car that was speeding off.  By the time we caught up with the car and realized it wasn’t them, we were very separated.  So we pulled off and tried to track them down on the phone.  Of course, we didn’t have their number, but eventually, we connected on phone after several calls.  So, we turned around and went back to Mr. Donut to wait some more.  They needed to pick up their daughter-in-law from work so that took a few minutes before they returned, but we made it to the book store without any problem.  Mr. Azucena just dropped off Mrs. Azucena and Lia and let them ride with us.  He went back home because it was a ladies event for teachers and he wasn’t going to attend.  We ate lunch at the mall and then we drove to San Marcos.  It was on the way to the airport and it was supposed to start at 2 and that was the time we arrived.  However, they decided to push it back 30 minutes, waiting for people to arrive.  It was a fun class and I had already taught the class before, so I was familiar with everything.  Dwaine helped me with extra hands at times and the ladies enjoyed his company too.  At the end, a funny thing happened.  They brought out a gift for our coming and when I opened it, it was a large beach towel with a map of El Salvador.  They funny part is that the identical beach towel was hanging in the fabric store.  Dwaine and I had discussed the map for several minutes and had almost bought it, we like it so much.  We were excited for the gift.  Afterwards, we had to drive back into the city to pick up Lia car and they stopped with me at two pharmacies so I could find some synthroid in the right dosage.  That will get me through our trip to the States and we can find some more when we come back.  It has been over a year since I had my numbers checked, but we decided maybe when we come back, I will try to go to a lab and get those tests done.  It was a fun day and we enjoyed getting to know some more family in El Salvador.  We got back close to 8.  The last bit between Sonsonate and Juayua was in the dark.  We don’t like to be out on the road after dark, but it went smooth and we were thankful to be home.

Don't have many pretty views from our home, but this early morning site was great.

It reminds me of....
Pink in the morning, sailors take warning,
Pink at night, sailors delight.
Well, it didn't rain on our trip, but looked like it would all day.

Ready to start.

Wonderful husband!
