Ladies day!
We spent most of the morning cooking and preparing the craft for the
event. We did have about an hour to go
out door knocking and search for some new contacts. One funny one….we were knocking on a door of
a two story home. A man began talking to
us and we stepped by to search for whoever was talking, but could not find
anyone. Finally, we realized that he was
in the tree immediately over our heads.
He was pulling mandarins off a tree and he threw us a couple. Dwaine and his group had visited this house,
but no one was home, so we will have to try again. We did meet some of his contacts, Letti, who
preached us a sermon, Transito, who was just visiting her ill mother and
Yesenia. Yesenia sounded really busy,
but sounded like she could study. It
looks like Saturday might work, so we will try to revisit. Ladies’ events rolls around in a hurry. We had been handing out invitations, but had
concerns after the campaign, things might drop off. We did have a smaller number, with about 13
visitors and about 8 to 10 sisters. The
exciting part, is that we had a new visitor to come, Vilma. She is a neighbor to Briseida and we had often
met along the path around the cemetery.
Also, Miriam came and we were thankful to have her come again, among
others. Eliza did the teaching on prayer
and she broke everyone into groups for a time of prayer. Dwaine and Arnoldo helped serve the food. and we made a prayer journal for the craft with
milk paint. That was fun and the ladies
really liked it. We set Monday morning
for another prayer gathering. It was a good
event.
