August 15, 2016

Monday morning Dwaine and I went to try to study with Sylvia since she had not been in last Tuesday.  She was not there, but her two sons were there and said she would return on into the morning.  Next we went to visit with Terry and Celia.  Terry said her last injection had not helped much, but she was getting by.  They did say they would continue to study, so we planned to visit with them on Friday.  We tried to walk by Mauricio’s, but he was not in.  I think he will be really busy until Independence Day.  We did run into Manuel in the street.  He is reading through Que Dice La Biblia and he said several Mormons stopped by his home.  He used the material he was reading to confront their religious beliefs that weren’t in the Bible.  That was exciting.  He still wants to finish the book before formally studying. We stopped back by Sylvia’s and she was home this time. She said sometimes she unexpectedly has the opportunity to do some washing for others and that was why she was out last Tuesday.  She didn’t have too long to study because the boys had school and they had to eat lunch.  But it was good to get going with our study.  She was one of the contacts from Daniel’s campaign group. We went home for lunch and then it started pouring down rain.  Seily and I were scheduled to go visit Vilma and Amalia.  I waited for a bit and then decided to go ahead.  Of course, we had to swim to the cemetery path and then, the rain was so hard that no one could hear us.  We knocked and called to Vilma, but there was no response.  We had such a hard time getting back in the car because of the water flow over the curbing, we decided to call it a day.  I was soaking wet when I got back home.  At six, it was still raining some, but we had a good turn out on the New Converts class.  Dwaine did the class on church government.  Because of the rain, he took one car load home and then came back to a second load.  We wrapped up about 8.
