Wedding bells!
It is wedding day. That means
busy, busy, busy. Before church, we
finished up the chicken salad. Most of
the food was ready, so that aspect helped. We had a good turnout at church, and some
visitors came that were going to participate in the children’s program. Most of the children had their lines
memorized and we had a good run through.
After church, we dropped several people off and then went by the market
to buy fresh flowers. The primary thing
we lacked completing was décor, so we spent the afternoon blowing up
balloons. We are beginning to accumulate
several items for weddings, so it makes for a nice wedding. Dwaine left about 4:20 to start bringing
people in. Cesar, also made a trip to
pick up folks and when all was said and done, we had 32 people. I had planned for 30, so I was close. The ceremony was gorgeous and Ana and George
made such a beautiful couple. We are
truly blessed to be able to be able to participate in this event. To witness to people join in marriage is a
beautiful covenant. Seily spent about an
hour sharing going over legal aspects of the marriage. She does a great job giving
applications. Then, Mario follows with a
sermon and brings in a Biblical view of marriage. Finally, they close with
several fun sharing aspects with candles, the cord of three and the unity
sand. Since I was cutting it close on
the food, we decided to serve plates.
That made for plenty of food.
Dwaine handed out plates and kept drinks going. The cake only lacked the topper, so it was easy to finish. It is always a relief for it to be in place after spending so much time on it. We had picked up a Bible with presentation pages in San Salvador for them and they opened that with lots of smiles. When, we came to the end, we started the
process all over again where Cesar and Dwaine took several car loads home. For his last trip he took one couple to
Salcoatitan. We got back home about
8:30. He said he thought it had been one
of the nicest weddings. The aspect that
was so special to us was that they had so many family members to join in the
celebration. Blessings Ana Vilma and
George!
