A noisy start.
The band was playing loud and a ton of children were outside our door
for a good portion of the morning. That
is what we get for living near the school.
On Dwaine’s walk with Wicket he tried to go by and see if Sara could do
an interview with Kayla. Kayla and Oscar
had opened their little coffee shop a few weeks ago and many of the group got
to go by and try some of their wares.
Kayla’s father has a brain tumor and he is declining rapidly. Kayla is going to go back to the States for a
visit and they need a helper in their coffee shop. We had mentioned Sara since she had to leave
Juayua in the mornings and go to Santa Ana to work. She also always has to work on Sunday. So, Dwaine asked Kayla could he bring her
by. But, she was working all day so we
will have to try again for Thursday. We
started studies about 9:15ish and my first study was not at home. But as I was getting starting, I saw Celia’s
door was open and she said that their money had not arrived for Terry’s
injection, so they were going to go to the doctor either in the afternoon or
Monday. She said Terry was home and we
could come by for the study anytime.
Dwaine’s first study did not work out, so he joined me. This was a tough study because they are
Mormon and we wanted to talk about why that ‘following’ was in error. It was a hard study. They listened, but it was difficult. We have studied for many months and this may
wrap up our study with them. We will
plan a second study, but we will see if they will be open to more studies or if
they continue to visit when they can. We
pray that all will work out. We do pray
especially for Terry’s health.
Apparently, this is a birth defect with her heart, and it is very
serious. Afterwards, Cesar had moved on,
so Dwaine went with me to hand out some invitations for the ladies’ event. We also went by Briseida's. She was really sick with some respiratory issues and could hardly talk. The group had one bag of food that remained after they left and we took it to her. Especially being sick, she really appreciated it. On the way home, we talked to Socorro. I thought her study was going to have an interruption,
but it looks like it will still work out. We got home at noon, after trying to
find Mario and Sara again. We rested 20
minutes before Arnoldo came for lunch.
He will be off for a couple of days, so I will at least have someone to
go out to studies with on Thursday. He
helped me get ready for the children’s class and even wrote a song that we
practiced pertaining to our theme for the night. We are going to try a game and see how that
goes for the kids. Carolina came at 1:30
for our study. She is so very sweet and
eager to learn. Cesar walked down our
street and introduced us to two new contacts that he had made and gave them the
first lesson in Que Dice la Biblia. The
guys headed out to Sister Ana’s with Carolina to take home and I walked to
Socorro’s. She was not home. So, I returned and worked on the children’s
class so more. That is never really
done. I was also getting next month’s
materials ready to distribute to Eliza since we will teach together in
August. After a few minutes Dwaine
returned and it started pouring rain. We
had a few minutes to get ready to go again.
We stopped by Socorro’s, but she is diabetic and is having a problem
with her foot. She had either returned,
or was not able to hear earlier. That
happens from time to time. We also went
by and got some of Ana’s folks and then Mario and Sara. It was a car load. Dwaine taught since it was the first Wednesday of the month and I was in with the children with Arnoldo. The song worked well and the kids really
liked it. Everyone liked the game too
and asked if we could do another one next week.
