March 10, 2015

Lunch with the Cortez’s. Yeah, everyone was well enough to venture out for lunch.  We were so thankful for the opportunity for the visit.  We had the special treat of having Hector’s grandmother, Teresa, to join us too.  It was good to just visit and not be so busy about details.  Fellowship is such a blessing from God.  I had been asked to do a couple of teaching seminars and teaching is Rachel’s forte.  So we decided to talk to Linda and see if the three of us might develop a plan.  Yeah, that was blessing!  I think our different strengths will help us develop some ideas to present.  After lunch, we headed out for some studies.  Bessi’s little girl, Valentina, had been sick through the weekend and she had to go the hospital.  She was better, but her cousin, Stephanie, now has the virus, so we were not able to study.  Bessi said the hospital was full of children with this virus, so we are in prayer for everyone’s health.  We went on to Reina’s and had a long study.  The lesson in ‘Que Dice la Biblia?’ was on the plan of salvation, so we studied quite a while on this subject.  Keep Reina in your prayers.  There is some reason that she is not making a decision to follow Jesus, but she will not open up about her struggle.  Katherine had too much homework to study, so we had a little break.  The evening study was great with Carlos teaching about the 10 commandments.  We are always excited to hear the different opinions and great lessons among all the preachers here.  This study is at the home of Zoila.  Her family is so strong in the church here and a big encouragement to the body.  I also wanted to give an update on our friends in the States, Don and Lynda Grizzle.  Don had been in the hospital up north, and he was released and was able to travel to his mother’s home.  That has been an answer to many prayers and we praise God for this sweet end to a week long ordeal.  God is goodJ.  As a P.S. we heard there was a 4.2 earthquake off El Salvador’s coast yesterday, but we didn’t feel this one.  This just greatly intrigues me to live in a region where this is a regular occurrence.

Beautiful Cortez Family!
