What a day of rejoicing it will be…as the song goes. We are blessed to have a new Sister in
Christ, Reina! Many have been praying
for her decision and today, the prayers have been answered. We met Reina the first week we arrived
here. The church had been reading
through the Bible and Lucky would go by and read with Reina three or four times
a week. When Lucky left to visit the
States, the Bible reading for the church was complete, so we began having
studies with Reina, along with our Sister Bessy. Each study, we felt
like she understood and wanted to be baptized, but something was holding her
back. We asked Carlos and Egardo to go by and visit and see if she might be
able to share her reservations. Well,
after two visits, she decided today would be the day! A group of us met at the swimming pool in
Ataco and a Reina was baptized. I was so
excited about her decision, I waded on out and gave her a big hug. It is always a joy beyond description when
someone becomes a new creation! We were
also blessed today, by having the Cortez family over for lunch. Greg Nance, Rachel’s father, was here for a
week. He is conducting a seminar on
Saturday. We were excited that he could
come visit for a meal while he is here.
Finally, at the end of the day, we went to an outdoor film on the life
of Moses. Brothers set up a tent on a
concrete breezeway in Triumphal, and did some door-knocking. There were several visitors. It is the second time this week that the
movie was shown. The first showing was
also done in a small community on the border of Ataco and had about 15ish adult
visitors and about 30ish children visitors.
It is a lot of work to put up the tent, but the results have been a
blessing. It was a great day with many
blessings.
