March 14, 2015

Scrambled out of bed with a couple of hours to get cooking completed for company.  Dwaine made a couple of trips to the market and everything that could possibly be cooked ahead of time was ready.  I had to leave the house at 10:45 for a meeting with Rachel and Linda to plan a seminar that will be conducted in October for teachers.  We are trying to reinforce different teaching methods and plan to invite about 10 congregations to participate.  It is a big task, but the organization went really well.  It is exciting to have the support of sisters.  That still leaves me with two congregations that have asked me to do a local teachers workshop.  I am going to try to shoot for a possible August date and pray that I can develop some ideas that will be useful.  I know God will direct me my steps.  Rachel shared a great meal with burritos and then we headed out for the ladies class.  Last week we decided that we would go visiting every other week.  So, a small group of us headed out for two homes.  Our meeting time was 2:30 and we finished at 5:30.  We visited two homes and each study lasted well over an hour.  The openness of the people we visited was tremendous and we shared many verses to try to encourage resolution with some issues.  While Linda opened one lesson and I another, everyone contributed verses as questions and comments flowed.  It is amazing to see God lead our thoughts.  Rachel’s comments were so encouraging and Linda always has a deep array of passages memorized.  It is always a blessing to walk along with them.  It is also a blessing to have some time with Rachel after her family had been sick for so long.  She has such a heart for God and is so gentle.  I got home about 6 and company arrived about 6:30.  Dwaine had cleaned the house and the last details fell into place.  We were encouraged to have Noe and Betty along with their children, Noe and Karen to visit from Turin.  While they live in Ahuachapan, Noe is the preacher in Turin.  It was a nice evening and a blessing to have them over.
