Dwaine left early this morning to take the car for repair on
the air conditioning. This had been
fixed a few weeks ago, but the Freon has already leaked out. So, there must still be a hole in the
system. They said they would stand by
their work, so we will see how that goes.
For the first time, Dwaine rode the bus back from Ahuachapan. He said that they didn’t take up money in the
beginning, but about half way through the ride, someone came around and took up
money, $.50. So, it wasn’t too bad. I ventured out to visit a couple of ladies
that live close by from the Ataco church.
I baked some cookies and headed out.
The first lady, Gladys, knew Caleb, Della and Clifton pretty well. Her family had ridden with us to Izalco, so I
knew her a little. We visited about
thirty minutes and prayed together.
Then, I went to visit Rosamirida.
She tried to teach me to make tortillas and then gave me a recipe how to
cook the national flower of El Salvador.
She had some growing her back yard.
After a bit we headed out to visit another sister, Graciella. She is so funny. They had lost a dog for several weeks and
finally gave up and got another. Of
course, once they got a replacement, the first showed back up. She wanted me to take the new puppy. She also crocheted and had several items to
show me. Her sister lives with her and
we were able to have a study with her spur of the moment. She had been in the church, but had recently
started visiting the 7th Day Adventist church. We studied almost an hour and she said that
we could return again for another study in the future. I returned home, but later that afternoon,
Rosamirida came by and brought me an omelet prepared with the national
flower. It was really good. I will have to post a picture of the omelet tomorrow, That was a nice treat. We weren’t able to go to the evening study
because we had no car. The night studies
end too late to catch a bus and it is too dangerous to travel when it gets late
if you don’t have a car. So, we just
settled in for the evening.
I am praying for you two. The Etwaroos send greetings and prayers.
