How funny of us to think that the election celebration might
end at a reasonable hour. After
supporters of different candidates partied through Sunday night and well into
Monday morning, we felt a little sleep deprived all Monday. But it still was a busy day. We had a couple of hours to continue setting
up house in the new place and then we had Cesar, Eliza, Abi, Joseph, Leah and
Mr. Azucena to come for lunch. Joseph is
another member of the Azucena family and he works as a youth minister in San Salvador. He was in this area to celebrate Osvaldo’s
birthday on the first, so it was a good time to get to meet him and his
girlfriend Leah. Joseph and Leah have
been dating 9 years now. That is a long
time. We really enjoyed their visit and
I fried chicken for the first time since our arrival. It was so tender that Cesar thought it was
fish and we all joked about that the rest of the day. Everyone is easy to fellowship with and laugh
with. Our first study, Catherine, was
unable to study today, so we headed out about 2:45 for a study with Stephanie
and Reina and then the group study at the Shucutitan. We had about 12 people at the group study and
that was a great good one. Hector
studied the life of Moses as part of the continuation of ‘La Historia’ and
there was lots of discussion. We have
been here a month and we seem fairly settled.
We think we are going to branch out and start some door knocking in
Juayua apart from the already existing studies.
Hopefully, that will be a step to develop more contacts. We are still without internet, so our
stateside communication has definitely been limited. We have a mobile device that gives us a
little contact, but we miss not having access to the internet. Hopefully it will not be long until that
happens.
Great fellowship for lunch!
This is a way to clean election trash....just burn it!
