Last Sunday at Schucutitan.
Charlotte got up early to start working on lunch since it had to be
ready when we got back from services. I
got up at 6 to start helping her. We got
off a little later than we would have preferred but got there during the
opening prayer. Hector was preaching in
Izalco so Carlos preached and Paulo led singing. During the announcements, I gave a short talk
about our changing to a morning service in Juayúa in November
and that because next Sunday would be the big area meeting this was probably
our last time to be at Schucutitan for a while.
After I spoke Carlos had some very kind remarks about our time with the
Ataco church and we got lots of hugs and best wishes during the recess. After services we walked back down the road
to the car. It sure was hard to think
that we were making our last trip down that road at least for some while. Probably the Ataco family will be moved to
their new location before we visit there again so it will be really
different. When we got back to the car
we waited for Isabella's husband Guillermo (William) to arrive since he had
decided to come with them so he could bring them back home. When he arrived there were 4 adults and
several kids from the congregation waiting for the bus and since they were
going in our direction he had them all pile in his small SUV. It was amazing how they all managed to fit
in. When we got to our house we got to
meet him and this was the first time I had really talked to him since he does
not attend services. We had a wonderful
meal as always and really enjoyed our visit.
The 3 kids had a great time playing with Wicket with frequent squeals of
laughter as they played fetch and tug of war.
After Bessie, Isabella and kids left Paulo stayed on for a while and
helped us change our internet password to make it harder for people here to
pirate our service. At about 3:30 I took
him to the bus stop and ran back and rested for about 30 minutes before
services. After the service we worked
out how many people were going on Saturday to the family seminar and on Sunday
to the area wide gathering. We decided
we could get by with our car and Cesar's for Saturday and needed to rent a
micro bus at least for Sunday. We also
set the time to meet each day to leave.
