Happy
Birthday Clifton! Clifton turned 22
today, so we called bright and early. He
said he had plans for dinner at the best hamburger place in the world,
Mugshots. It was good to talk to him. Where is that screen shot when you need
it? Afterwards we went for a walk and
Dwaine ran the car back to the garage.
They had one spot to touch up, and we noticed a lot of bubbles. They did some scrubbing with a compound and
it looked great. It is good to be
done. Friday is supposed to be our day
off. Even though we had plans, things
changed and we really did have a day off.
We had the morning free, so I baked 4 loaves of avocado bread, a loaf of
ayote bread, Mississippi Mud and put dinner in the crock pot. It seemed I was in the kitchen a long
time. Dwaine sure had a lot of dishes to
wash and he never complained a moment.
We worked on lessons some more.
We had a 2:30 study planned with Omar, Gisela and Emile, but when Dwaine
got a call and they said they couldn’t come today. So, he went by some bookstores and Selectos
to finish up shopping for some craft items for the Sunday area wide Bible
class. He also got the car washed and detailed for our trip for $3. It was
pouring down rain all this time and when he returned, he said one lady he
talked with said that the rain should be over now and ‘summer’ should be
underway…..the dry season. She said this
may yet go on all of November at this rate.
When Dwaine got home, he studied a website that Cesar had suggested (http://www.biblecourses.com/Spanish/default.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 called ‘Truth for Today World Mission School’
with both Spanish and English lessons) and I worked on a lesson. About 5 I started working on dinner. I had our dish in the crock pot, but I cooked
guisquil for a side. A sister had given
this to me on Wednesday night and Kelly had stopped by one morning and told me
how to cook it. It could be cooked in a
soup or stir fried with onions, eggs and cheese. I opted for the later and they seemed to have
the texture of diced potatoes. It was good,
but quite a process. I couldn’t find any
bread recipes for it…..but I think I could adapt. We are trying to get to bed fairly early to
prepare for an all-day event in Ahuachapán, a family seminar. We got to skype with Caleb and catch
Charlotte before bedtime. It was good in
that we got to talk with everyone today.
Leanna had been put to work at the clinic cleaning with Clorox and Dawn. Unbeknown, Dawn has ammonia. These two cleaning products should not be
mixed. She is fine, but had some
breathing problems for a few minutes.
Sometimes we just feel so far away…..
Somewhat of an overlook in Juayua.
Passed a strange mask on our walk, so Dwaine snapped a photo.
Guisquil for Dinner!
