Area wide in Santa Ana.
Sunday was a big meeting of the western churches. About 10 churches were represented with 600
adults and about 150 children. It was a
great time of fellowship and excellent lessons.
We left at 6:30 on a rented van.
It was our first time to rent a van, but we had about 14 people going
and there was not enough room for everyone in the two cars. It was a smooth ride and we arrived a few
minutes after 8 for an 8:45 meeting.
Dwaine and Arnoldo were supposed to be there by 8:30, to help assist
with the Lord’s Supper. The meeting was in a pavilion that was a fortified
fort. Soldiers were practicing drills
off and on all day. For the morning, we
listened to the lessons on the family, which were well organized with a great
speaker. It was a bring-your-on lunch
and several did not bring anything.
There were several shops nearby, so everyone had plenty. After lunch, Dwaine, Arnoldo and I taught the
12-13 year old children’s class. We had
about 40 minutes. Kenia and Lisbeth
followed, but it was already almost 3, and everyone wanted to end on time. So they only had about 15 minutes. We loaded up afterwards to head back to
Juayua. The van driver was probably in
his early 20’s and he just went on and on that I reminded him of his
grandmother. While I am proudly a
grandmother, there was a little bit of difference between my one year old Charlotte
and the age of this man. We laughed and
laughed and again decided it was just my ‘kind face.’ Ha! We
got back at 4 and were all exhausted. We
did not have our 5 o’clock service since everyone had been to church all
day. Next week will be our shift to our
morning service, so that is neat. Dwaine
and I came home to rest and then worked on our marriage lesson. We set up a power point lesson to change
things up a bit. We are trying to have a
different style of lesson each week.
