Our Thanksgiving. We were so
excited the day had finally arrived that we would be having the Nance family
for dinner. We walked Wicket and did
some morning cooking then I picked up Cesar to go to Mario's for a study. We decided it would be good just to visit and
talk mostly for a change. He said it
sure had been hard trying to live with his injury. He said he had been very active and hard
working and then suddenly unable to do anything. He is supposed to have another surgery next
September and after that try not to move his leg at all while it heals so it
will be at least about a year from now before he can work again. It is so hard to know what to say to someone
in such a situation when you are in good health and have never been through
anything like that. We did have a short
study at the end and a prayer of encouragement.
After I dropped of Cesar I went to have the car washed and vacuumed so
that it would be nice for picking up the Nances. When I got home I helped Charlotte with the
cooking all I could and did some house cleaning. She said she could pick them up and I could
take them home for she had done about all she could do until the final preparations
before eating. Hector called about 4 and
said they were ready to be picked up and she headed out. I walked up to the hardware store to see if
the landlord was working to talk to him about the house. We had decided to ask
if he would let us rent the house we are now in and the one next to us for
$300/month for both. That one is $150
and this one $200 and we thought if he would put in the garage and we could get
both we would have a pretty big house and could just stay here for the long
haul. We would still not have water in
the kitchen but we thought we could put a table in there for Charlotte to rinse
hands and dishes and place them in a container until I took them out to be washed. He was not in so I headed on back home and
worked on a blog until Charlotte returned with the Nances. We had a great visit except that Charlotte
had to spend too much time in the kitchen finishing up the meal and it got
really hot in there. Suzie asked if we were going to do anything special for
Thanksgiving and we said you all are it.
At about 9 I took them back over.
As we left it was starting to rain but fortunately it wasn't too hard
and had stopped by the time we got to Apaneca.

Trying to get everyone in the pic!
