Getting organized. Today was
our weekly meeting with our brothers who are starting the church in
Salcoatitan. This time Carlos brought
Linda and their two girls and Joli did not come but Brother Louis Angel from
Ahuachapan came for the first time. He
heads up JEA which in English is Youth in Action. And he had said he wanted to work with us
some in the works here in Juayua and Salcoatitan. We went over the last details of getting ready
for the two events we are having to make new contacts. The first will be this Friday in Salcoatitan
and the next will be next Tuesday here in Juayua. Carlos had fliers that he had
made for inviting people to the one in Salcoatitan and with minor modifications
he was able to adapt them to be used in Juayua so we were able to go and print
out 130 in the afternoon to be ready to
hand them out on Tuesday. We got all the
other details worked out about who was doing what and when. We have some brothers coming to help Linda
with the children's class and games and activities and Charlotte and Joli are
going to teach a ladies class. The 4 of
us men are going to serve the refreshments first to the ladies and then to the
kids. We are going to have the event in
each place from 3 to 4:30 because we were told we needed to be out of the area
in Salcoatitan by the time dark was approaching because it was not very safe
after dark. Cesar had to leave early
because he had lots of family coming for an overnight visit so we wrapped up a
little early. Just as we were ready to
eat lunch Sister Rosalidia came by with her little boy and visited for about an
hour. We were pretty hungry by the time
she left but it was her first time to be in our house and we had a good visit. After lunch we went by and had the copies of
the invitations made and then about 2:30 Nelson arrived for a study. We studied on have the miraculous gifts
ceased and really got to talk some about the different beliefs of the group he
had been in and what the Bible says. It
was a good study and gave him a lot to think about. He seems like a pretty serious fellow so
maybe he will really consider what we said.
He stayed until after 4 and we had another study scheduled with Raul and
Ana at 5. Sister Rosalidia had said she
would go with us on that study since she had been before but when we got there
to pick her up only her husband brother Jose Manuel went with us. Then while we were at the study Sister Rosalidia
and their 2 children arrived. She said
their little boy would not stop crying about his dad leaving him so they just
walked over. Cesar said he had about 16 people in his house and during the
study Eliza called to say their tank of gas for the stove had run out. He was not able to leave but told her where
they could get it. Raul was able to
arrange for several people to stay the night in a cabana in the subdivision he
lives and works in. That sure helped
because Cesar and Eliza do not have a large house. When we got back to Regina's after the
study she had gotten a prescription she needed to start on in preparation for
her surgery on Wednesday so Cesar ran with Pedro to a drug store to pick it
up. After they left we had a prayer with
Regina and the rest of the family. They
were all pretty nervous about the upcoming surgery for Regina. She said she had lived with the pain so long
she never though she would be able to have surgery for it. We gave Elizabeth and Zuleyma a ride back to
our house where they walked on up the short rough road to Zuleyma's for the
night.
