Early
rising. I got up early to work on
several studies. Dwaine arose soon
afterwards. We were both under the
weather so it was good to have a morning to use on lessons. First, was the marriage class for Wednesday on
‘submission.’ Thanks Allen Wright for
your outline and ideas. Second was to
finish ideas for the children’s classes.
Arnoldo arrived in our house at 12 to help finish up that class and to
have lunch with us. He is teaching each
Wednesday night while we are teaching the marriage class. He offered to do this to help him overcome
some fears of working in front of others.
For the afternoon, we studied with Sara.
Her son had come to service on Sunday and had really liked the children’s
classes. She said that she was trying to
move to Santa Ana. We encouraged her to
come to the service too. Afterwards I
went to study with Socorro. She was such
a joy to study with. She is always so
friendly and helpful. We completed the
study and visited. She is not attending
a service now, so I am hopeful that she will come some time. She opens her business on Sunday, so it might
be a challenge for her to come. While I
was at the study, Dwaine and Cesar went to Omar’s to rent a van for
Sunday. We have enough space in our car
and Cesar’s car for Saturday’s family workshop, but need to rent a van for the
area wide services in Santa Ana on Sunday.
After they got that taken care of and I finished the study, Dwaine and I
met up at home to get ready for a study with our landlord, Don Santos. Dwaine had worked on a great lesson on “The History
of Sin,” but I remembered he had a question on OT/NT divisions, so we both
worked on that for a bit and shared that lesson. He came for about two hours and said that
when he had lived in the U.S., he had promised the Lord that he would go to
church when he returned to El Salvador.
This a man who keeps his promises, so we pray that we will continue to
study and the Lord will open his heart to obedience. Afterwards, we skyped and we worked on
lessons some more. I stayed up to midnight
getting my part finished. Well, we are
ready for Wednesday!
