House full. We were expecting Company about 10. The first crew to come was Paolo and Xochil to
play games with Clifton. They actually
arrived about 11. The second crew
expected was Fernando, Liseth, Fernando and Fernanda along with Wendy, Deborah
and Eva. We were thinking about 12, but it was closer to 11. Eva arrived in time to help me turn
pupusas. I was trying out my new cooking
skills with company. Really, I had so
much filling left from Tuesday, I didn’t want it to go to waste, so I added
pupusas to the menu. They were a great
hit. I so enjoyed Liseth and Wendy. While all the young folks and Fernando went
upstairs, I visited with the ladies.
Clifton told Wendy that he had a list of people that he wanted to see
before leaving El Salvador. Since he saw
her, his list was complete. They are
such an encouraging family. Then a funny
thing happened. We left before our
company departed. Dwaine and I had a
study scheduled with Natividad with Edgardo at 3:30. Everyone made plans to stay until time to
leave for their own Bible study in Ahuachapan at 4. Clifton wanted to stay home with the group,
so we said our good-byes and departed.
It was really foggy and that means rain is coming. We thought we could get in our study before
that happened, but alas that was wishful thinking. Edgardo was out, so we went on. We had a good study in I John and then told
them I had been cooking pupusas all week.
They were excited and said I must try some additional ingredients. They sent us on our way with plantains and
three types of plants to put in the pupusas.
I actually have no more corn meal remaining, but I will have to cook a
few more because they were so kind. I
will also have to drop by some pupusas for them too. It was slippery going back down the mountain,
so I was moving slow. About half way
down, one of the boys came dashing by us.
I really don’t know how he didn’t go slip sliding by. When we got in the car, the fog was really
thick. We have to park on a curve, so we
must be quick to pull out. But, then,
just as Dwaine got out in the middle of the curve on the road, he stopped to
turn on some music! Yikes! Fortunately, no one rounded the corner at
that moment. But the fog was so thick,
people we saw had lights and flashers on.
Thankfully we made it home. Just
after we got home, the rain started coming down really heavy, so we called it a
night.
Paolo won again!
Wendy jumped in to help!
