Good
day. We headed out to Juayua at 10 and
started with a study with Julia. We
wanted to talk about baptism and so I compared the marriage of Christ and the
church to our union with Christ. I pray
that God will work on her heart. Soon
Sister Regina will visit her too as soon as the baby and mom are settled. Then, we went on to Mr. Rivas. He was home and somehow we just talked for
about 45 minutes. Actually, it was good
to get to know him better on a personal level.
He said that he was interested in coming to the English class next
week. Then, we tried out another
restaurant. When we arrived, the door
was closed and the waiter said he was waiting on the chef. He arrived quickly and we ordered. We sat just beyond the kitchen and the chef
cooked our lunch. Occasionally we saw
him reach out the window and pull an herb out of the window box. The meal was great. The chef visited with us a few minutes and
said he and his wife were from Italy. We
asked if we came by early one day and got a menu, could we just drop off an
order to have ready when the group came for dinner. He said of course. It was a small operation, just a converted
home. It was a nice place though, so it
will work for a meal. Then, Dwaine and I
started putting out more flyers. We ran
across a couple of small rooms for business rental and asked if they had any
further houses. She called a friend and
we walked several blocks to see a house.
It was nice on the outside, needed painting on the inside, but
was….alas, just too small. Another
strike-out. We went on to pick up
Pedrito and visit sister Ana. Now this
was hilarious. She was a little sheepish
that it was just us again and asked when Cesar and Regina would be back. But then she warmed up because we sang a
funny Spanish song. I found, “I got the
joy, joy, joy, down in my heart” in Spanish, but Pedrito didn’t know it. Dwaine and I started singing and at the end,
Dwaine would always ask, “Where?” in Spanish “Donde?” and they thought that was
hilarious. We all laughed through the
whole song. It was a good time. Dwaine did the study and we headed out. At Sister Regina’s and Pedro’s Dwaine did the
study and I did the children’s class. It
went smooth and we headed out to Selectos.
We are gathering items for next week for our lunches for the team. Time is getting close!
