We go our separate
ways. Carlos wanted to spend some time
with Clifton so they planned to go to visit Manuel’s bee farm. We got up and got ready to go to Ahuachapan
with Elizabeth do visit Regina’s sister in the hospital. I heard the garbage truck and went out to
catch them and when I turned to go back inside Elizabeth was standing at our
door. We found the hospital with no
problem and she was in a room just past the nurse’s station. It was interesting to me how she related much
more to Charlotte than to her niece.
They hugged and talked a long time.
While we were there Sonia’s brother came in and said a very long prayer
over her with his hand on her head. Then
he did the same for their mother who was standing by the bed. He also prayed for each family member going
to each one and placing his hand on their head as he prayed. Then he stood near me and prayed for me and
did the same for Charlotte though he had never met us before and knew nothing
about us. It was interesting and lasted
quite a long time. After we left the
hospital we went by a large pharmacy in Ahuachapan for Charlotte to get some
more thyroid medicine. Then by Selectos
and we still got home before noon.
Clifton did not go with us because we were not sure at first what time
we would get back and he had the appointment with Carlos. He was still there and we had lunch. We headed out for Juayua about 1:30 and
Carlos was supposed to arrive any time.
We went first to the home of Mario and Sara. It was our first study with them other than
during the campaign. It went well and we
set a time to go back by on Wednesday to study again. Then we tried to go by Dellme to study but
she was not home so we decided to see if Mr. Rivas was home. He was up at the end of his street and headed
to the park. When we caught up with him
he had just made it to the top of the embankment and had to turn around and
come back down. It was hard for him
because he had a really swollen ankle.
We went to his home and after visiting for a bit he asked about the Lord’s
Supper so we had a good study about that and made an appointment to come back
again on Wednesday at 10. When we walked
back to the car Julia was waiting for us at her gate. Our relationship with her is definitely
growing well. She said she had also had
a birthday on Sunday. We asked how old
she was and she laughed and said a ton of years. She gave Charlotte a bag of avocados and she said she would make her some bread. Then we went on to our study at Raul and Ana’s. He had to work until six so we visited with
Ana until then and still had a study with both of them. We finally got home about 8 and Clifton was
still over at Carlos and Linda’s. I ran
and got him. He said he had a great time
at the bee farm and really enjoyed his time with Carlos. He was the only one who did not get stung
once. They also fed him dinner and he
said it was good. Actually they had dinner and a movie and watched "God is not Dead" with their supper of fried chicken and mashed potatoes. We were glad he had
gotten to pass a fun day without being with us.
He has made many friends here from last year. Friday Noe wants to come just to spend time
with him also.
