July 16, 2015

3:53 a.m.  Don’t you know it….part 2.  We had a pretty good rattling this morning that woke us all up.  Our bed is on rollers, so it was moving and I got up to move to a doorway.  About the time I made it, Clifton was also up. Wicket just stayed under the bed and Dwaine just stayed in the bed. I looked it up, and it was a 4.3 in Guatemala, very near to Santa Ana.  So, in other words it was about an hour from us.  That was all funny after my comments about the butterflies yesterday.  It is amazing to feel an earthquake, but it was good that it wasn’t so strong that anyone was hurt.  I glanced at the clock, and thought it was about 5, so I went ahead and stayed up.  It took me a long time to realize that I had missed that by an hour. Dwaine had company coming at 9 to prepare for the guys seminar on purity, so I wanted to do some cooking.  It was the first time since our arrival that I tried cinnamon rolls.  That is quite a process, so I got an earlier than expected start.  Samuel was the first to arrive.  He is the young man that teaches the teen classes.  Then Ricardo came, bringing a pretty good cold with him.  Well, at least Dwaine certainly had already had it.  Carlos got tied up with a family, so everyone was here by 9:30.  After breakfast, everyone went upstairs and I explained what we had done on the girls.  Lucky had translated most of the lessons, so we had those for a reference.  The men met till close to 1 to 1:30, so they got all the details hammered out.  They wanted to call their seminar, ‘Young Men of Valor.’  They set a date of August 1.  At least for them, it will be during the day on a Saturday.  That beats the all night eventJ.  Clifton will do the introduction and I will cook lunch.  Then, we will head out to Juayua for English and class.  The men will stay and Dwaine, Hector, Ricardo and Carlos will all teach.  It should be a full day.  Afterwards, Cesar, Eliza and Abi came by.  They had gone to Ahuachapan to have some car work done.  We have been studying with a couple on Monday’s, Raul and Ana.  For this study, the men have been with Raul and I have studied with Ana.  She is close to a decision and we thought we would study with them together this upcoming week to cover some questions that involved them both.  Then, we had planned to go to Rosamiriam’s for the evening study, but Cesar and Eliza left after it started.  So, we stayed home for the evening.  No one stayed up too late because we were all tired from the earthquake.
