July 25, 2015

Happy Birthday Christina!  We called our daughter, Christina, this morning to wish her a Happy 30th Birthday!  She was enjoying a break at the beach.  What a celebration!  For here, new study and new students.  Because our day was so full in Juayua, we planned to leave earlier than usual.  The main reason was that we planned to begin our first study with Nelson.  He has been visiting for a while and we finally worked out a time to study at noon before the English class.  He was right on time.  Last week he had asked a question, “How can we be sure that the Bible is God inspired and intact for today?”  Dwaine had worked on this subject for the week and he presented this lesson for Nelson.  It went well and we wrapped up for our 1:30 English class.  Our three students, who own the chocobanana shop and plant store, all came.  This is Omar, Gisela and Emile.  They had come when the group was here for English and we visited with them on Wednesday this past week.  They brought two friends with them, so it was great.  I know their business is busy on Saturday, so we were really blessed for them to come.  They did say they might have some other commitments Sunday and may not come to service.  However, Carlos and Nelson both said that they would come.  It is exciting to develop friendships with such genuine and loving people.  Afterwards we studied with Jose and Kelly.  Their whole family had come last Sunday.  Jose said that was first time to ever go to a church service.  He said he felt a little uncomfortable going, but it is a great start.  They will also have some business on Sunday, but said they should be able to go on Wednesday night.  Kelly was sewing a large number of uniforms and she said her deadline was soon.  They did say they were working on some changes in their life, so we are in prayer for them.  Nelson had mentioned that he knew of a house for rent so we stopped for a moment and talked to a lady.  She said we could come back Monday and she would talk to the owner of two places.  Maybe one will work.  Then, we went on to our 5 o’clock study at Sister Regina’s and Brother Pedro’s.  Brother Manuel Azucena did our study we all enjoyed that.  Afterwards, we headed to Selectos to gather food for the teen girls and start on the menu for the teen boy’s seminar Saturday.  When we got home, we noted it was a little crowded.  We knew it was the festival for coffee here in Ataco, so many people were still out and about.  After dinner, they shot fireworks and we had a good view from across the street.  Well, Christina…..we will just think that’s for youJ!
