Another
earthquake. I just did that for effect. Well, Guatemala had another offshore at
4.9. Even though this one was bigger, we
didn’t feel it. It was deeper than some,
so maybe that was why. Saturday, we
cleaned and did various tasks around the house.
For one, we got the handout ready for the young men’s class. It will be ‘Youth of Valor.’ Those will be ready to handout on
Sunday. About 12 we headed out to
Shucutitan. We had visited with Nettie
and Estella, but their daughter, Yaritza was not at home. They said that she would not be home until
Saturday, so we said we would stop by on our way to Juayua. We should have come earlier, for Yaritza
stayed in her room for about 30 minutes, getting ready to greet Clifton. She
was a big part of the youth group when Clifton was here last year, but she has
not been to church since our arrival. I have
visited with the teen girls to encourage her, but to no avail.
We had only planned a short visit, so we did not stay long. For class, we only had
Pedro, Nelson and Carlos. That was a
surprise after all the English students we had.
It was pouring rain, so maybe we will have more next week. The class was good with Nelson and Carlos
because we were able to give them a Bible in the English and Spanish
versions. They were really excited about
that. We talked to Nelson more about
studying and he wants to. We just have
to work out the details. Then, we went
on to Jose and Kelly’s. Cesar led a
study on discipleship and they said they would try to go to service on
Sunday. That was great. Then, we went back to Sister Regina’s for our
5:00 service. That is primarily for
members. Then, we headed home. Pedrito came with us because we planned to
have all the teens over on Sunday for lunch after church in Shucutitan. Clifton didn’t feel too good, so no one
stayed up too late.
