They’re here!
Our Huntsville group arrived on Monday, including Clifton. Hector headed out about 4 in the morning to
take the Corona, CA group to the airport and pick up the Huntsville group about
noon. We decided to go separate to avoid
the early hour. So, we left home about
9. We got to the airport about 11. It looked like their plane had arrived, but
alas it was almost 12:30 when everyone made it through customs. While we waited there was quite a reception
for a dance group which was returning from a competition they had been in
somewhere. There were several moms with
shirts on that had the group name on them. The reception committee included a
masked person on stilts and a drum core playing. It was very noisy. Dwaine and I got separated while we waited
and I was by myself for about 45 minutes. I even walked around looking for him
twice. I, Dwaine, was actually only about 10 ft. away with Edgardo in the crowd and could see Charlotte but did not know she did not see me. It was good to have everyone come in. So many have been here in El Salvador several
times, so they bring lots of experience and enthusiasm. We will have Clifton,
James and Jim in our home and David, Rodney, Allison, Daniel, Jasmine, Rain, John
and Matt will stay with Hector. We
headed out and stopped at Wendy’s with the group and then at Selectos in
Sonsonate and on the way to Ataco.
Everyone came over in the evening and we walked to a pizza place in
Ataco. It was a great start to the week.
