Alone again,
but now we are three. We got up and
started getting ready to take Jim and James to Hector’s by 8. About 6:50 Carlos arrived with something
Hector needed to be taken to the states. As we were talking he noticed that our front
tire was really low. He helped me change
it and we discovered that the lug wrench that was in our car was to large for
the lugs. Fortunately he had a 4-way
wrench. I sure was grateful for his help
and also to discover that I need a 4-way before we have another flat. The temporary spare looked ok and made the
trip but as I was waiting to get it changed back at about 9 it also had gotten
low. We made it to Hector’s in plenty of
time but everyone was out in the street loading up. Lots of hugs, lots of hugs. The week went so well, way better than our
nervous expectations allowed us to hope, and everyone worked so hard and was so
wonderful. We have lots more to do in
Juayua now cause we know lots more people and that was what we most hoped for
from this visit by the group. We came
back home and all rested for a couple of hrs. , even Clifton. After lunch, we headed out to Juayua. We took some food for Zuleyma because we had
not visited her and the baby in a couple of weeks. She lives up the street from Jose and Kelly
and as we walked by they said their little dog, Peggy, had her puppies the
night before. Actually she had 2 and one
was still inside. The other two had been
born near midnight and this was about 3 pm.
I examined her and tried to massage the puppy out. She is really small and I could only get one
finger inside. I could feel the puppy
was backwards but could not get hold of anything to pull it out. We went on to see the baby and mom, and they
were both doing good. I went back down
and tried again on Peggy but no luck. At
4 we had an appointment to meet the chef from the Italian restaurant we had
taken the group to on Thursday night to look at a house. We did get to see it but it was an in town
mansion with rooms everywhere and a huge garage and back yard. She said that they did not really want to rent
it out because some of the family used it from time to time, it was fully furnished. But if they did rent it would be $600 per
month or we could buy it for only $300,000.
Still looking!!!! Charlotte, Clifton and Cesar all went to our 5:00
study with Raul and Ana. I headed to
Selectos and a couple of other stores to see if there was anything I could find
to get hold of the puppy inside of Peggy.
I found nothing. When I got back
nothing had changed. I worked for the
entire hour trying somehow to get hold of the puppy which was no doubt dead. About 6:15 a lady who was a “medico” arrived
and a man went to get some anesthesia and tools for a Cesarean so I left it in
their hands since I did not want to impose myself into the situation. Until then I had been the only one there
besides Jose and Kelly. I told Jose I
would pray for Peggy and he said it was for sure I had done everything I
could. I met Charlotte and the guys at
Selectos and we got a few items and headed for home. They said that Raul was mostly working and
they only talked with him a little but Charlotte had a good study with Ana.
Getting ready to head out.
